Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Lozier
Former Director of Housekeeping at St. Mary’s Hospital
Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” (Tigue) Lozier, 93, of Wolcott formerly of Oakville, died Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Cornerstone Hospice in Tavares, Florida. She was the widow of Richard Lozier.
Betty was born in Pittston, Pennsylvania on January 12, 1919, daughter of the late Michael and Hanna (Hurrey) Tigue. She was a graduate of Hughestown High School and Hartford University. She was the Director of Housekeeping at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury for 32 years until retiring in 1992.
She leaves two brothers, Joseph Tigue of Long Island, New York, Thomas Tigue and his wife Margaret of Bristol, a sister, Beatrice (Errico) Kelley of Leesburg, Florida, two step-daughters, Jean Riggi and her husband Joseph of Prospect, and Jyl Oman and her husband Rob of Madison, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Michael Tigue.
Arrangements: Funeral Tuesday 9 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway to St. Pius X Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Calling hours Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
